The end of 2023 ended with the fun news that my image, "Sacred Lotus, Pink Glow," won 1st Place in the Water Garden division in the annual Dave's Garden Photography contest. I also garnered four 2nd Place, two 3rd Place, and 11 Runner Up spots over 19 categories. My lotus image will appear in the 2024 Dave's Garden Calendar (pictured to the left), available here: https://www.zazzle.com/store/davesgarden
It's a fun contest and I always enjoy being a part of it - particularly because of the garden and flower theme. It was a nice surprise to end the year with.
My second surprise at the end of the year was a 1st Place win in the annual Stock Seed Farms Photography Contest. Each year, Stock Seed Farms - a large grower in Murdock, Nebraska that specializes in native prairie seed and field plantings - puts out a call for entrants in their annual photo competition. The winning image is awarded a gift prize and a spot on the cover of the farm's 2024 catalog. After several months waiting and much to my surprise, I was notified that my image "Painted Lady Butterfly on Heath Asters" had won 1st Place! It seemed to be a fairly competitive event and I was very grateful for the news to finish out the year. You can visit their site at https://www.stockseed.com/ Their new catalog will be published soon!
Beginning with the 2023 Holiday season, I will have a selection of boxed floral note
